Engagement Reception

Wow, what a great weekend.  From February 5-8, we celebrated our engagement with a reception.  It was great seeing a lot of family and friends.  We not only celebrated our engagement, we also celebrated Mardi Gras and the Superbowl victory.

Engagement Reception - New Orleans - February 6

Picture
The first phase of our celebration is an engagement reception in New Orleans on February 6th.  It's also the first weekend of Mardi Gras New Orleans city elections, and Superbowl weekend!  It'll be a great weekend with lots of friends and family.

Engagement Reception : Our reception will take place Saturday, February 6 at the Galleria Ballroom at the Sheraton Metairie from 6 pm - 10 pm.  It will be a fun evening with Garba, dancing, and great company.

No boxed gifts please.    Please RSVP by January 10 to Varsha or Kirit Shah (504) 443-1721.

Four Galleria Boulevard, Metairie,LA ,70001

Travel: For air travelers, New Orleans has only one airport - Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY).   For those driving in, the city is located along Interstate 10.

Car Rental:  For auto rentals, we recommend using Enterprise Rent A Car.  For special rates, please contact Viral Shah.

Accommodations:  Many guests will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel in the French Quarter (This is a different hotel than where the reception is taking place).  It's a great location on the parade route, near Bourbon Street and the French Quarter.

For those who prefer a not so party like hotel area, we have reserved a block of rooms at two hotels.

Local Eateries:  New Orleans is known for it's amazing food, drinks, and desserts.  While you're be sure to enjoy po-boys (fully dressed), raw oysters, fried catfish, jambalaya, alligator, muffelata, etouffe, and  of course crawfish.  If you have room for dessert, eat some pralines, beignets, bananas foster, and King Cake.  Here are some great places to check out:
